Coach Jacob Pesarcik (Coach Jake) was appointed the Men’s Soccer Head Coach in early March of 2018. Coach Jake arrived to Anna Maria College back in early August of 2017, prior to becoming the Men’s Soccer Head Coach, Coach Jake held the position as the Graduate Assistant Coach during the duration of Fall 2017 soccer season. Coach Jake is responsible for leading the Men’s Soccer program in all aspects.
A statement from Coach Jake – “My first priority is to build the men’s soccer program to a respectable standard as well as increase the player roster size with passionate, well-rounded, hard-working players who have a desire to achieve success both on and off the field. The men’s soccer program here at Anna Maria College has great potential to become something truly special to the very near future.”
Coach Jake was raised in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area where he played his youth soccer career at Lehigh Valley United. Coach Jake was then recruited to play for Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in which he went on to play four years for the Huskies. During his time at Bloomsburg University Coach Jake experienced both the highs and lows of college soccer. In Fall 2014, reaching the PSAC Conference Championship Finals as well as the first round of the NCAA Division II National Tournament and in Fall 2015 reaching the PSAC Conference Semi-Finals. In the Fall 2016 season, Coach Jake was voted team MVP. In total Coach Jake who was a Goalkeeper played a total of 23 games for the Huskies.
In making the transition into coaching Coach Jake is thoroughly invested in developing his knowledge as a college coach and is commitment to career long learning. Also, Coach Jake focuses heavily on the overall holistic development of his players. Coach Jake has obtained his United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma (expected Fall 2019 completion), Advanced National Diploma, National Diploma as well as his Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma. Currently, he is also working towards his United State Soccer Federation D License (expected Summer 2019 completion). Throughout the years, Coach Jake has been employed and has volunteered at numerous youth soccer clubs, high schools, camps/clinics and universities across the United States to gain valuable coaching experiences.
From Bloomsburg University Coach Jake received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in May of 2017 and in May of 2018, Coach Jake graduated from Anna Maria College with a Master’s Degree in Social Work (completed within Advanced Standing Program).
Along with Coach Jake’s coaching responsibilities, he is also the Administrative Assistant for the Anna Maria College Social Work Departments assisting both the BSW and MSW Directors in running the daily operations of the academic departments.
Matthew Robinson enters his second season as a Graduate Assistant coach for the 2019-2020 fall season.
Originally from Hunmanby, England, Robinson played collegiately at Ohio Valley University in West Virginia for two years. Following his time at OVU he transferred to Tabor College in Kansas where he studied and played. In his Senior year at Tabor he was Team Captain and a KCAC Honorable Mention.
After graduating in December of 2017 from Tabor with a degree in Sports Management, Robinson had been working with UK Elite and FCUSA in South Eastern Massachusetts until he took the Position at AMC. He currently coaches the 2003 Boys for FCUSA United out of Worcester.
Coach Robinson holds a level 1 coaching badge with the English Football Association and has completed his United States Soccer Federation Grassroots courses. He is looking to complete the United States Soccer Federation D License in the next year. Robinson is going into his second year of the MBA Program here at Anna Maria College.
